Clean Eating

One of the challenges when clean eating is finding the right foods to snack on. When I first started juicing, I discovered kale. I had never heard of this veggie before and had no idea how to consume it except for in my juice. Lately, during my research on different recipes, I’ve quite frequently come across people making kale chips. Which, of course, led me to wanting to try them out! The roomie and I tried it for the first time a couple nights ago and it was surprisingly quite delicious! Today I found myself craving some.

A big ol' bunch of kale.

It's funny how a very light sprinkle of extra virgin olive oil and salt can do to the color!

15 minutes in the oven on 350 degrees and you got your healthy chips for a yummy snack!

After Work Snack: Green Smoothie

Clean Eating

Work always has me hungry after, so the perfect snack without the long wait has to be a nice green juice/smoothie. Even though it is just liquid, it always leaves me satisfied because it has so many nutrients from the fruits and veggies blended together! Today I made my go-to green smoothie.

First, I juiced apples, carrots, kale, and a lemon. I forgot the celery!

I added the juice to this colorful mix of spinach, berries, and mango in the blender.

It needed something else...plain greek yogurt! It adds thickness, plus is an added source of protein!

It takes seconds to blend and just as much time to drink since it’s so yummy! You can’t even taste the veggies in here at all! I forgot to take a picture of the final product because I was so hungry and excited to drink it. Next time! I have to find a way to prep this just so it’s an even faster process in the future. Maybe mason jars? Thanks, Pinterest.
